Strengthening Hygiene Management Systems
Following the full implementation of "HACCP-based hygiene management" in June 2021, our group has advanced initiatives to ensure food safety and strengthen hygiene management systems at both stores and factories. At stores, centered on "hygiene management incorporating HACCP principles," we have established hygiene management plans, introduced external audits by third-party organizations, and implemented regular verification of hygiene management status.
Furthermore, at our factories, we have established a strict management system based on “HACCP-based hygiene management” for each process across the entire supply chain, striving to maintain and improve food safety.
As a result of these efforts, we have obtained the following food safety management system certifications. We are committed to strengthening and maintaining our hygiene management system across the entire group, aiming to provide safe and secure food.

*1 HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) - A hygiene management method used to ensure food safety by controlling hazard factors such as foodborne pathogens and foreign material contamination.
*2 FSSC 22000 - An international food safety management standard based on ISO 22000, incorporating HACCP principles to establish a strict hygiene management system.
*3 JFS-B Standard - A food safety management standard developed by the Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) for food manufacturing and chemical product manufacturing sectors. It includes requirements for Food Safety Management Systems (FSM), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
*4 JFS Standard (Food Service) - A certification program established by JFSM for food service businesses such as restaurants, catering facilities, and other food service providers. It aims to improve hygiene management at each store or facility and ensure the safe and secure provision of food, including compliance with HACCP requirements.
*5 JFS Standard (Food Service / Multi-site) - A certification program for food service operators with multiple locations. It aims to standardize and streamline hygiene management across all sites based on HACCP requirements, enabling centralized oversight of operations at each location.

Enhancement of Inspection Capabilities

In line with our commitment to providing food safety and reliability, we are focusing on measures to prevent foreign object contamination in food products.
We have completed the installation of either metal detectors or X-ray foreign object detectors in all domestic factories across the Group. Notably, COLOWIDE MD, which oversees the Group's merchandising, has installed both metal detectors and X-ray foreign object detectors at its key Central Kitchens in Kanagawa and Nagahama, along with a food radiation measurement system. In addition, we require all products to pass either metal detection or X-ray foreign object detection tests before shipment, as part of our ongoing efforts to prevent contamination. Furthermore, vegetables and other raw materials are tested for residual pesticides under the positive list system, and for imported products, we conduct individual inspections prior to procurement, continuing to strengthen our inspection functions.
